Introducing Mona Carter as State Director of March of Dimes South Carolina Chapter

August 29, 2012 - The March of Dimes is proud to announce
that Mona Tolson Carter is the State Director of the South Carolina
Chapter of the March of Dimes. Mona comes to us from an 18 year career
with the American Heart Association where she held many positions
including Vice President of Corporate Relations for the Mid-Atlantic
Affiliate. Prior to that, she worked for Manpower and Sonoco Products.
Mona received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Francis Marion
University.
Mrs. Carter is a Native South Carolinian. She grew up in Chesterfield
County and has lived all of her adult life in Florence. She and her
husband, Scott, have three children and are active members of Southside
Baptist Church as well as entrenched in school activities. Mona
recently completed a three-year term as President of the South Florence
High School Band Boosters.
“Mona Carter brings more than 20 years of professional expertise to our
organization – the bulk of which is in fundraising and volunteer
development. We welcome her to the March of Dimes and look forward to
working together so more families in communities across the state will
know the joy of having a healthy baby” said Vince Ford, Chairman, March
of Dimes Chapter Board of Directors.
Each year, the South Carolina Chapter of the March of Dimes invests in
mission initiatives statewide, including research grants and local
community services. Through these program services, the March of Dimes
continues working to prevent birth defects and infant death, reduce
South Carolina’s premature birth rate, increase access to prenatal care
and educate healthcare providers and women about having healthy babies.
