The two pumpers will be used to train students on the safe, proper and effective use of equipment commonly used in fire fighting operations.  Steve Kovalcik, Greenville City Fire Chief, said, “It’s the right thing to do.”  In accepting the vehicles, Philip Hill, Assistant Dean of Technologies, expressed his gratitude. “This equipment will add to our capabilities to provide life-like training that will prepare students for work in the increasingly complex discipline of fire services,” Hill said. The Fire Service Technology program at the Brashier Campus of Greenville Tech has 24 students in the basic program and 40 students pursuing an associate degree.
