City of Greenville Moonlight Movies Returns for Second Season in September
GREENVILLE, SC - August 24, 2010 - Moviegoers are invited to enjoy a variety of film favorites under the stars at the City of Greenville's Moonlight Movies presented by Chick-fil-A at Cherrydale. The popular event transforms the Peace Center Amphitheater into an outdoor cinema. The free series kicks off September 1 and runs every Wednesday in September at 8 p.m. (at dusk).
2010 Moonlight Movie Series Schedule:
- September 1: Viewer’s Choice!
- September 8: Nine to Five (1980) - Presented by The Peace Center
- September 15: Pee Wee's Big Adventure (1985) - Feature film for Bikeville Week
- September 22: Young Frankenstein (1974) - Presented by The Peace Center
- September 29: West Side Story (1961) - Presented by The Peace Center
This season, audience members have the opportunity to vote for one of
three films to be selected for the Viewer’s Choice showing. This year’s
Viewer’s Choice selections are Rudy (1993), Toy Story (1995) and The
Nutty Professor (1963). Viewers can cast their vote on the city’s
website at www.greenvillesc.gov/PublicInfo_Events/MoonlightMovies.aspx.
Moviegoers are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics, but please no pets. At this month’s Moonlight Movies, Chick-fil-A at Cherrydale will offer food and beverage products at the event. Individuals consuming alcohol at the event must purchase a $1 wristband. All City of Greenville events are smoke-free.
