City Hosts NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition, Sept. 11
GREENVILLE, SC - September 11, 2010 - The City of Greenville Parks and
Recreation Department invites local youth to compete in the NFL Punt,
Pass and Kick (PPK) competition on September 11 at 1 p.m. at Sirrine
Stadium. PPK is a free national initiative that provides boys and girls
between the ages of 6 and 15 years old with the opportunity to
participate in a football skills competition, showcasing their punting,
passing and kicking.
The PPK competition separates children into five different age groups.
Each participant is allowed one punt, one pass and a kick from a tee.
Scoring is based on distance and accuracy. Soft-sole gym shoes are the
only accepted footwear for the competition. Football cleats, turf shoes
or bare feet are not permitted. Participants must use the equipment
(footballs and tees) provided. A signed parental release must be
completed before competing in the program.
PPK
Established in 1961, the PPK program is the oldest NFL Youth Football
program. With more than three million boys and girls from around the
country taking part in PPK competitions every year, it has become one of
the largest youth sports participation programs.
