USC Upstate Hosts College Goal South Carolina

SPARTANBURG, SC - The University of South Carolina Upstate Upward Bound Program, along with the USC Upstate Financial Aid Department and the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, will continue its annual financial aid support campaign with two upcoming College Goal South Carolina workshops in the Upstate.  

The workshops are designed to provide financial aid information and to assist in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Students will be able to receive one-on-one instruction and guidance at any of the workshops, which are free and open to the public.The main event will take place on February 18 at the University of South Carolina Upstate in the Health Education Complex from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Mike Fox, vice president of outreach for the S.C.  Student Loan Corporation, will be the guest speaker.  He will provide helpful tips and information about securing funds for college and an update on eligibility for grants and scholarships.   Another workshop will be held at the Gaffney Branch of Spartanburg Community College on February 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Participants need to bring a social security number, W-2 forms from the previous year, and parent’s most recent federal Income tax returns.

College Goal South Carolina is a volunteer effort by the South Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the South Carolina Commission of Higher Education, and the South Carolina Student Loan Corporation in cooperation with the University of South Carolina Upstate.
