Fluor has been at the forefront of innovation in engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance, led by visionary management and a global team of committed experts. Today, it is active in more than 25 countries on six continents.
We sat down with Chery Smith, Manager of Community Relations at Fluor in Greenville to talk about the role that the company plays in the local communities it serves both in the United States and abroad. Fluor has a long tradition of community service. While Fluor's core business is centered on engineering, construction, and maintenance, providing service to the communities in which Fluor employees live and work is Fluor's privilege.
Education is a priority at Fluor, both for the company and for its employees. Fluor works with students and educational institutions at all levels to promote and strengthen math, science, engineering, and construction education, and teacher training.
Last year, Fluor employees dedicated over 36,000 employee volunteer hours toward team service projects assisting organizations and schools.
The Fluor Foundation has a long history of investing in communities, nonprofit organizations, and education. Since its inception in 1952, the foundation, along with Fluor Corporation, has contributed more than $145 million to projects around the world.
