PENDLETON, SC - September 2, 2012 - The Reserve at Lake Keowee is an Upstate, SC residential community that spans 3,900 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  It boasts 30 miles of shoreline on Lake Keowee, a 200-slip Marina, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, and more than 1,400 acres of parks and green spaces.

The Reserve also boasts something that is rather unique for residential communities - a Community Foundation, which was created to enhance the quality of life in the local area while fulfilling a sense of community and philanthropy for The Reserve's members.

Recently, The Reserve's Community Foundation was named Volunteer of the Year in the Civic Organization category by the South Carolina Department of Education.

Kathryn Gravely, Executive Director of the Community Foundation at The Reserve at Lake Keowee and resident, Dick Bishop, sat down to talk with us about how the foundation is involved in the local community.
